SNL Tracer FIRE Event Spring 2023
What is Tracer FIRE
Sandia National Laboratories (https://www.sandia.gov) will be covering incident response, and having participants group up to work through a mock incident. This event mocks an actual compromised network and have participants investigate how the network was compromised, how adversaries moved around the network, and what was stolen from the network. Participants will work with disk images, memory dumps, and malicious binaries in order to understand and report on the incident.
Teams
The SNL Tracer FIRE event will be a team-based event. During the event you will work with up to 4 other people as an incident response team. If you need assistance in forming a team before the event, you may use the Discord for communications. It will serve as the pre-event hub for the Auburn campus. Otherwise, we can assist you with forming teams on the day of the event. Participants are encouraged to form teams early.

Event Schedule (All times CDT):
Pre-event: April 14th 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM (Hybrid)
Day 1: April 15th 10 AM - 5:30 PM
Day 2: April 16th 10:30AM - 4:30 PM

Assistance with direction can be provided through Discord communications via the EHC Discord server.
Requirements
University-affiliated students and faculty are formally invited to this event. You will also need a laptop to participate in this environment.
Note on laptop: Although we do not provide a formal minimum requirement, do note that some tools may require some computing power. Full support for the tools used in the event are given to x86_64 processors (modern AMD/Intel CPUs). ARM(64) devices are not fully supported, as some tools may not be compatible with them (e.g., Apple Silicon).

Cost
The cost for two lunches, snacks, and drinks throughout the event will be pooled through the $20 admission fee. Participants are expected to Venmo @Andrew-Pruett-9 using an account that can be linked to your identity (through name or message). Last 4 digits: 8062.
